Paula Kilpinen's dissertation ranks amongst the top five in international doctoral thesis competition

The dissertation on management and international business was selected for the top five best dissertations in the competition for the Barry M Richman Award.
The Barry M. Richman Award is awarded annually for dissertations which contribute to the field of international management in a ground-breaking way. The awards were presented in Philadelphia on 4 August 2014 at the Annual Academy of Management Conference.
The best doctoral dissertation was awarded to Marcus M. Larsen for his thesis entitled The Organizational Design of offshoring.
In her dissertation for Aalto University, Paula Kilpinen, D.Sc. (Econ.), examined the interactions between strategy and the internal and external business environments. In practice, she focused on the impact of these factors on the development of capabilities in Nokia, Kone and Iittala.
